“The easy option was not to race,” Alberto Puig applauds Marc Marquez for his grit and determination

Marc Marquez
Marc Marquez has been haunted by a string of horrible injuries in the past and the Spaniard has not been able to completely recover. It all started his Jerez with a crash that broke his right arm and the six time MotoGP world champion hasn’t looked the same ever since. That was followed with a major crash in Indonesia which triggered his double vision problems, almost forcing him to leave the sport his loves.
But, being the warrior that he is, Marquez bounced back to return to MotoGP and stoked a flawless pre season this year around. But the same form has not been able to be replicated during the season as the rider has not looked fully fit to compete with the likes of Fabio Quartararo and Enea Bastianini. He expressed his desire to win yet another championship but that seems to look unlikely after he’s all set to go through yet another surgery.
This surgery has been long due and this option was also explored back in October but had to be given up due to a combination of his bone being not ready and also his ongoing double vision problems. He could have stopped racing at that point in time but he chose to continue. The Spaniard suffered another crash in Italy but somehow bounced back to finished 10th.

Alberto Puig has confirmed that Stefan Bradl will replace him till the time he recovers. He said, “It’s really impressive, what Marc did during the weekend. “The easy option was not to race.”
“Knowing that you have an operation on Thursday, you can have the fear that all that can happen on Sunday would have been a disaster, that you take risks, you damage yourself and then everything is delayed.”
“As I said on Saturday, we want to thank him for his efforts and now we will wait for him. We also think he is grateful for Honda’s understanding during this difficult period,” as reported by crash.
Marc Marquez has been recently called a ‘falling star’. But, despite of what he has gone through, one thing that has caught everyone’s is his passion for the sport, which is inspiring.
