“We have another strong asset,” Francesco Guidotti confirms the signing of Jack Miller to a two year deal
Jack Miller
Jack Miller has not had the best of seasons with the Factory Ducati team as he finds himself 9th in the champions with only podiums after nine rounds of racing. The results have not been up to the mark and that has resulted into frustration creeping in the rider. There were also rumors that the Ducati team might be looking for replacement for Jack Miller after his substandard performances.
Jack Miller was supposed to be the faster than what he was in Catalunya but unfortunately, Ducati just couldn’t find the right set of tyres to perform adequately in the scorching heat. While the rider at the front were comfortably clocking 1.40s, it was almost next to impossible for the Australian to match that sort of pace with that hard tyre. He just couldn’t find the grip to in turn be able to find that extra tenth.
The Australian looked a dejected figure and vehemently criticized the choice of the tyres by Ducati. He made it clear that it was shithouse weekend for him which ended up with him finishing P14. He was seen sliding that Ducati left, right and center, even on the straights but couldn’t do much more than what we did. The duo just didn’t look on the same page to get the job done.
Jack Miller set to join KTM after agreeing to part ways with Ducati, confirms Francesco Guidotti
But, things are bound to change as he has agreed to part ways with Ducati and join KTM replacing Miguel Oliviera. Red Bull Factory Racing Team Manager, Francesco Guidotti expressed his excitement saying, “Having Jack alongside Brad [Binder] in our team means we have another strong asset. I know him well, I know how he likes to work and what he can bring to the box. “
“I believe his character and the way he will ride and push our KTM RC16 will help us a lot at this stage of our project.”
“Like Brad, Jack is a pure racer: he will find the limits and the maximum of any condition,” as reported by crash.
Jack Miller definitely has the potential to be a top of the grid racer but at this moment, he needs someone to wrap their arm around him reinject the confidence he has been dearly lacking. Hopefully, old boss Francesco Guidotti can do it for him.
