It was the main motorcycle category in Brazil between 2011 and 2015. The championship had its latest event marred by a horrific accident that claimed the lives of two riders.

In the heart of the high-speed spectacle at Brazil’s Cascavel International Autodrome in Paraná, a cataclysmic event unfolded that would forever alter the course of the race. André Veríssimo Cardoso, a 42-year-old rider, found himself grappling with the relentless forces of physics as he battled to maintain control of his motorcycle during a treacherous turn. His desperate struggle against gravity and velocity ultimately led to a heart-stopping tumble onto the raceway’s unyielding surface.

Trailing closely behind André, his 38-year-old counterpart, Érico Verissimo da Rocha, became an unwitting participant in this harrowing drama.
