Valentino Rossi

Valentino Rossi has been everything, from being the poster boy to being the legend, for MotoGP. It’s been more than a year since he retired from the sport but it’s impossible to go for as long as a season without mentioning his name. But the Italian has definitely earned it after what he has done for the sport ever since he announced his arrival.

As a MotoGP fan, the first name that comes to my mind when I think of the sport is of the legend himself, the ‘Doctor’, Valentino Rossi. He has been a connoisseur of the sport for the longest time and has inspired millions across the globe to watch this action-packed and thrilling sport. The beauty of Valentino Rossi is that he has competed with the other veterans of MotoGP and also the modern greats of the sport.

But one person who has been consistent is Valentino Rossi. One of the biggest achievements of his life has to be that two eras have been marked by his entry and exit. One is before Rossi and the other one is after Rossi. His contributions have helped the likes of modern talents like Fransesco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo to succeed.

Recently Carlos Ezpeleta said, “We are fortunate for what Valentino has created and will remain. He was very important to our sport, both for being a champion, very fast, as well as for expanding interests in the world championship. For many years Valentino Rossi was undeniably one of the ‘faces’ of MotoGP, not only for the titles he won but also for his charisma and irreverence on the track.”

Now it seems like he might be marking his return to the sport with his racing team, winner of the nine-time world champion. Carlos Pernat said, “I am not convinced that the RNF Team will stay with Yamaha. In fact, everything makes me think that Yamaha and Valentino Rossi could get married again, with the Mooney VR46 Racing Team as a dowry for Iwata,” as reported by motorcyclesports.

This has been a season that is marked by the rider transfer market as a lot of them will be out of contract come 2023. In such a frantic season, we can expect major shakeups in the driver lineups and also changes within teams.
