The inaugural Indian MotoGP saw many Bollywood celebrities attend the race and interact with the fans. One such man was none other than superstar John Abraham. Having been a bike enthusiast from the start, his enthusiasm for the whole event was truly compelling. Apart from him, even Ranveer Singh was present at the circuit with Ducati India for some fun activities.
John Abraham went on to thank Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his support in bringing MotoGP to India. Apart from that, John stated that he was very excited to see aspiring racers in the country. The ‘Pathan’ actor also expressed his intention to start a racing academy to train riders, with the ultimate goal being to witness an Indian rider race in the premier class of MotoGP.
In an interview, John Abraham elaborated on this. “I am thankful to the MotoGP for bringing the race to India. I congratulate the Indian Oil MotoGP team for putting this race together. I’d also like to thank the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for making this happen. I can’t wait to see all the racers, whom I had only seen on television earlier, compete right here in India. It just feels incredible that the MotoGP has finally arrived in India. My dream is to start an academy one day and I would want to see an Indian race in the MotoGP,” he stated.

Marco Bezzecchi won the first ever Indian Grand Prix
In what was an exciting and drama-filled race, Marco Bezzecchi went on to put a show and cross the checkered line first, with a gap of over eight seconds to Jorge Martin. On the other hand, it was surprising to see Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo finish third and complete the podium. It could have been a P2 for the Frenchman, but his move on Martin failed to stick.
This race has had major implications for the championship fight. After the Saturday Sprint, the championship lead that Pecco Bagnaia had was reduced to 33 points. However, with the Ducati rider crashing out of the main race, Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi got a huge advantage. After Martin’s P2 finish, Pecco Bagnaia’s lead has been cut down to just 13 points.
