Casey Stoner stresses on Marc Marquez “needs to learn to ride differently”

Marc Marquez is a super talented racer. Wouldn’t be wrong if you considered him to be one of the greatest riders that his sport has seen with 6 MotoGP premier class championships to his name. The Repsol Honda driver completely dominated the sport in the past decade with gruelling title fights and some brilliant rides. While all this is true, there also comes a question about his riding style which many deem to be ‘very aggressive’.

Marc Marquez took every corner as fast as he could and always rode like he was in qualifying mode. This riding style posed many threats to him and the drivers racing around him. Although this style affected Marc more as he’s had some horrible crashes over the years where he has lost control of his bike and has sustained multiple injuries but still chooses to continue with the racing as soon as he gets medically cleared. I guess world champions are relentless that way .

Casey Stoner thinks that it is necessary for Marc Marquez to make some changes to his riding style and further insisted that the Honda rider has to change it just a little and not race significantly differently compared to his previous riding style should he choose to do so.

“Now everytime he crashes he feels in danger and that makes you think. For me he needs to learn to ride a little bit differently, he doesn’t have the same reaction time as in the past, he can’t ride that relaxed, it doesn’t mean it’s bad, it was the same for me.” Casey Stoner says in an interview. 

After undergoing a successful fourth surgery, the Spanish driver is targeting a return to the premier class of motorsports on two wheels  in 2023 after having to sit out for this season.
