Gresini Racing had started the season in style with Enea Bastianini making the whole paddock emotional after winning the first round of the MotoGP championship in Qatar. Another race victory was achieved by them through the Italian driver in the French GP. In this season so far, after their fruitful start, the team was expected to perform well but alas their consistency levels fall short in doing so. The team was in the points tally at times and every time that they were in the top 5, they were winning the race with Enea Bastianini giving them all their wins so far. Comparatively Fabio Di Giannantonio, his teammate has not been performing on his level which might have cost the team some valuable points to finish higher in the teams championship.

Gresini Racing has already finalised its line-up for 2023 and it is certain that they are going to lose Enea Bastianini and take on Alex Márquez who currently rides for LCR Honda. He will be paired up with Fabio ‘Diggia’ Di Giannantonio who further talked about changes in the garage that he doesn’t want.

“I’ll miss him, to be honest. We have a great relationship, we’ve known each other for a long time. If he changes teams to another one that is better for him… and Alex [ is a good person, I get along well with him, it will be good for us to join forces. The only thing I ask of Alex is that he doesn’t change the way we work. Because sometimes we talk to each other and compare our bikes and feelings. That’s a good thing, we get stronger and stronger and we do it together.” says the Gresini rider.

With half the season remaining, both the riders will have to focus on their current team with the main aim of finishing higher in the riders and constructors standings.
