Fabio Quartararo says he had ‘nothing more’ to give after failing to get Pole Position in Silverstone

Fabio Quartararo

Yamaha MotoGP rider Fabio Quartararo felt that he had “nothing more” left to give after he qualified in 4th position for the British Grand Prix. The competition was so close all around the qualifying session that it was hard to predict who would come up on top.

Pramac Ducati rider Johann Zarco managed to grab the top spot while Vinales and Miller completed the front row for the British Grand Prix. Fabio Quartararo on the other hand had to settle for the second row after a difficult qualifying session for him.

Fabio Quartararo will be serving a long lap penalty in tomorrow’s race for his antics in the Dutch Grand Prix where he collided with title rival Aleix Espargaro. While he himself failed to finish the race, his Aprilia rival managed to claw back through the grid from P15 to finish P4. It was an amazing recovery ride from the Spaniard which cut the gap between both the individuals to 21 points. With people questioning whether Espargaro will race tomorrow after his massive crash in FP4, only time will tell the outcome of their decision.

“I made one of the best laps of qualifying this year, I feel I have nothing more” : Fabio Quartararo on his qualifying performance at Silverstone

“Well, it is what it is. I mean, I made one of the best laps of qualifying this year, I feel I have nothing more. We want to put more power in sometimes, but we are already on the maximum.I feel happy about my pace also in FP4, okay with the crash of Aleix and [Takaaki] Nakagami I could not finish the lap because of the yellow flag, but I think all of our laps was on [1m]59 and this is something really positive,” he said.

“The track is much better than last year and our consistency as well is much better. Johann has really strong pace, I think he is the fastest. But I think our pace is to fight for the victory.

Okay, long lap penalty, we don’t know which position we will finish, but at least our pace is top,” he continued.

Fabio Quartararo is aiming to make it his second consecutive win at Silverstone but that still seems a bit far-fetched with his long lap penalty. Although anything is possible in this sport. With Espargaro not being at 100% due to his crash, the main competitor that the French rider will be worried about has to be Johann Zarco.
