Fabio Quartararo : “What you learn in 25 laps from Marc Marquez is incredible”
Fabio Quartararo
While appearing in the ‘Carpool’ show, Fabio Quartararo answered many questions about various topics although the one topic that stuck was his relationship with Marc Marquez. Some would say that this was the most interesting part of the whole show. Marc Marquez is a MotoGP legend with 6 premier class titles to his name and is known for his aggressive riding style. Ever since he entered the premier class of MotoGP he has been ever increasingly dominant with 2019 being the final year of his dominance.
“Marc Marquez is the rider I learned most from on the track” says Fabio Quartararo
He further said “ Doing 25 laps behind Marc, being close to him, without making mistakes, you really learn a lot. It’s amazing what I learned from him and what he left me”
Fabio Quartararo also said that he has changed his approach towards the season after 2020 where he lost the opportunity to win his first MotoGP title.
“I’ve gained more experience. When I was leader in the standings, and I had two more points than Joan Mir, I thought about the championship. Instead, from last year onward, I started thinking about winning every race, and I didn’t care so much about the championship anymore. With five or thirty-five points ahead in the league, what I want is to win.
It’s the same this year. I think this is the experience of having already been at the top of the championship “
With the season coming to a halfway point and only 9 races remaining, the battle is on for Fabio Quartararo as he will aim to retain his championship title which is under threat. The Yamaha MotoGP rider is also going to have to serve a Long Lap Penalty at the upcoming British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit due to his contact with Espargaro in the Dutch GP.
