Yamaha MotoGP rider Fabio Quartararo was previously spotted hanging around in the Mercedes F1 team garage during the French Formula One Grand Prix. The French rider was invited by the Brackley based team to be a team guest. Fabio Quartararo shares the Monster Energy and Petronas sponsorship with Mercedes so the fact that the Yamaha rider is being affiliated with Mercedes makes sense.

Fabio Quartararo says that both the parties are working on arranging a session but nothing is firmed up as of yet. It was reported during the French F1 Grand Prix weekend at Paul Ricard that the Yamaha rider will be completing a test with the Mercedes a bit further down the line this year but he said that it is “not something planned yet.”  Ahead of the MotoGP British GP at Silverstone this weekend, the French world champion had this to say-

“About Mercedes, it’s something I’m working to, it’s not something planned yet. But of course it would be something that I would love to try. I’ve been to the simulator, I’ve been in the car but I’ve never had a chance to test it. I spent a really nice day with Lewis but we were not talking about racing, just having fun on the surf and the jet ski, it was a good day,” he said while addressing the question about him and Lewis spending some time together before.

Fabio Quartararo had also gotten the chance to drive Mercedes’s F1 simulator at Brackley ahead of last year’s British Grand Prix. The Yamaha MotoGP rider said that it was an amazing experience and that he hoped to try the real thing one day. The MotoGP rider completed 50 laps on the simulator and was still hungry for more. He made his thoughts clear that he wanted to have a taste of the real action.
