It has been a rollercoaster of a season for Pecco Bagnaia and this just adds to the misery that he has had to bear so far. The reports stated that the crash happened during Tuesday morning where the officials took the Ducati rider’s alcohol breathalyser test whose score resulted in being over three times the legal limit that is permissible in Spain.
It does not look good for No. 63 as many fans were disappointed in the driver’s actions. After failing to finish races multiple times over the course of the season, Pecco Bagnaia prevailed in Assen as he crossed the finish line in first place. This meant that it was time for the rider to celebrate although the celebrations have seemed to go out of hand following yesterday’s incident.

“I am practically a non-drinker, and it was a serious carelessness that should not have happened,” Pecco Bagnaia issues a statement
The Italian took to social media on a Tuesday evening to confirm that he had been involved in a car crash while being intoxicated and proceeded to issue an apology for his actions.
“Last night I was in lbiza with my friends for a party during this break from MotoGP,” he stated.
“We celebrated and toasted together for my victory at the Dutch GP. As I was leaving the disco at 3am, I was facing a roundabout when I ended up with the front wheels in a ditch without involving other vehicles or people.
“However, the alcohol test carried out by the police found that the blood alcohol level was higher than what is allowed by Spanish law. I am sorry for what happened; I am practically a non-drinker, and it was a serious carelessness that should not have happened.
“I apologise to everyone, and I can assure you that I have learned my lesson. Never get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol.” he added while concluding his statement.
Pecco Bagnaia has assured his fans and competitors that he has learned his lesson and that he will not drive while being intoxicated ever again. Does this incident change your opinions on the Ducati rider as a person? Let us know in the comments below.
