“I no longer use a sling and I can start to have a normal life”: Marc Marquez drops another positive update on road to recovery
Marc Marquez
2019 was the last full season that Marc Marquez competed in. After his crash in Jerez during the 2020 season there were multiple complications in his right arm as it wasn’t treated properly. This cost the rider a lot of performance and it was obvious that the Repsol Honda rider couldn’t keep up with the excruciating pain that came with the injury.
After having 3 operations, Marc Marquez entered 2022 with the intention of getting back to riding like his old self. Unfortunately he required a 4th operation in order to fully fix his right arm due to which he had announced during the Italian Grand Prix that he will be sitting out for the 2022 MotoGP season in order to get the operation done and focus on recovery. It has been a while since that announcement and Marc Marquez underwent a successful operation and lately has been cleared by the doctors to start physio.

“They will plan every week, every day, what I need to do” : Marc Marquez on his ongoing treatment
When asked how it feels now that the sling is removed, the Repsol Honda rider said, “Now, of course, I feel very happy because I no longer use a sling and I can start to have a normal life.”
“However, it is also true that I feel there is a long way to go. With the arm it is difficult to eat, to move it, but step by step… The doctors have sent me a plan and with my physiotherapist and also with my trainer, and with my doctor here in Spain – Dr Angel Cotorro – they will plan every week, every day, what I need to do and I will follow their advice,”
“The first important thing is to find as much arm and shoulder mobility as possible, and gradually introduce some swimming, some gym. But step by step, without rushing.” he continued.
Marc Marquez had gone live on social media a few days back to address all the fans and talk about his ongoing recovery progress. We wish Marc all the best in his recovery and hope that he joins the grid as soon as possible.
