‘My biggest rival was Lorenzo’ : Dani Pedrosa

“There were many who followed me from a young age and saw in me that if they worked, they could make it. My biggest rival was Lorenzo, who is a little younger than me. We were feeding each other competitively and it gave me a lot of motivation to compete against him and against Stoner. But above all with Jorge I felt this need to go to the limit because he competed with a lot of desire”, Dani Pedrosa said in an interview.

The Spanish rider has been a runner-up in the premier class of the MotoGP championship three times. The first instance being in 2007 where Casey Stoner beat him. Later in 2010 and 2012, Jorge Lorenzo had the upper hand on him and won the Championship in both of those years. It is a safe bet to say that this trio of drivers pushed each other to the limit while competing with each other and were also the biggest source of motivation to perform better and push harder.
