If everything goes as planned, it will be a dream come true for us fans and especially the ones who have been following the sport for a decade now. The FMSCI who handle all the motorsports activities in India has had a great influence in the possible discussions taking place in order to bring MotoGP to India. FMSCI President Akbar Ebrahim is the man behind the idea.

With the FIM MiniGP series already set to begin in 2022 with India securing it’s name in the list of countries including Australia, Austria, Indonesia, Japan and Qatar as additions for 2022 which in turn add  to the 10 Series that began in 2021. The FIM MiniGP World Series is formulated as the first step on the Road to MotoGP™ and it aims to create an equal platform for young riders around the world to begin their moto racing career. India has a great number of two-wheelers which means that motorcycles are already a crucial part of the daily life of millions of individuals.

This is the closest we have ever been in securing a race in the Indian Subcontinent and it will be a great feat when the sport finally pays a visit. The race will be held at the Buddh International Circuit where Formula One used to race in between 2011 and 2013. The promoters of the circuit have already conducted a private inspection and homologation of the circuit before going to the FIM for and official homologation.

Knowing the fact that the Buddh International Circuit is already a Grade 1 racetrack, it would not require any major changes in the layout  which in turn rises our hopes even higher due to the possible return of MotoGP to India as soon as next year.

Which rider would you be excited to see the most when MotoGP finally comes to India? Let us know in the comments below.
