Joan Mir is an exceptional rider and also the fourth Spaniard to win the premier class title in MotoGP. After winning the Moto3 title in 2017, the Spanish rider won his second world title in the 2020 MotoGP season during his second year in the topmost class of racing on two wheels. The rider went back in time to reminisce about some of his key moments in the sport with one of them being his third place podium finish at the San Marino GP.

During the San Marino GP, Joan Mir started the last lap in fourth position after overtaking Alex Rins and Further went on to overtake Valentino Rossi and entered the last corner with a chance of grabbing P2 in a race that was eventually won by Franco Morbidelli. Rins ended up on the podium after grabbing P3 from the Doctor.

This one is great, it was pure adrenaline. In the last few laps I was quite strong and was able to do a lot of overtaking. That moment with Valentino is a moment I will never forget”, he said while referring to his turn 10 overtake on the #46 rider.

With Suzuki departing from MotoGP next year, Joan Mir is left without a ride for 2023. His teammate has already secured a ride with LCR Honda so it will be interesting to see where the Spaniard ends up for the next season. Where do you think Alex Rins will race in 2023?
