When the British rider joined Kawasaki all the way back in 2015, an era of dominance was initiated which lasted a few years and ended last year all thanks to Toprak Razgatlioglu’s efforts. In his WorldSBK career, the British rider has had many formidable opponents which made winning the title very difficult for him.

When asked about how he maintains his high levels of motivation after announcing a contract extension with Kawasaki for two years, Jonathan Rea said that winning is his main inspiration. The Kawasaki rider wants to continue to dedicate himself to the fullest.

“I don’t know about the others, but I can only answer for myself. Winning is like a drug: you always want more, it’s what continues to make you working hard at home, as well as what keeps the team working too. That’s where the motivation comes from. In the past it wasn’t difficult to stay motivated, but… with Chaz Davies being my main rival, he was my motivation; defeat Chaz, have good races, be better and at the moment are my main opponents,” he said.

I learn a lot about myself and also about the technical aspects of the bike’, he said with a smile”, he continued.
