Marc Marquez and Honda have shared a successful partnership over the years, leading to him winning world championship titles until 2019. The World Champion has always been linked to Honda over the years and it’s clear based on the commitment that both parties have shown to each other. However, in recent years, Honda has fallen off the pace and isn’t winning races regularly anymore.

In recent weeks, there have been speculations about Marc Marquez possibly quitting his Honda contract a year early. Thursday at the San Marino Grand Prix media pen was interesting for sure. Speedweek, a Red Bull-owned publication, claimed that Marquez will join Gresini with his brother, Alex Marquez who just signed an new contract with the team. According to Autosport, this deal has its ups and downs. Neither Repsol nor Estrella Galicia, the two brands that accompany Marquez, have agreed to the escape clauses with Honda.

In an interview, Marc Marquez goes on to address the situation. “I have not touched this subject with Honda; I think it would not be good for the project right now,” he replied, underlining “the project” on several occasions, but without stating whether he will be part of it. “My mentality with Honda is constructive, to look for the best for the project and the best thing now is to continue united, working,” he continued.

When asked about rumors about his brother’s future, Alex Marquez went on to ridicule the media for previously claiming that Marc could go to KTM and now to Gresini. Alex reiterated the fact that breaking a contract in MotoGP is extremely difficult. Marc Marquez would be fast if he came to Ducati, according to Alex. Questions about Marc’s future still arise, as nothing definitive has been set in place.

On the other hand, Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati’s Factory team have been causing havoc in the paddock with their unmatched pace. However, Marco Bezzecchi has also been a strong rival to Pecco in his championship charge. The Ducati factory rider has been declared fit to race in Misano after suffering a high side on his bike last weekend and getting run over by Brad Binder. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see where Marc Marquez eventually ends up.
