The first ever Indian Grand Prix weekend was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez. After qualifying on the second row, many in the paddock were surprised by Honda’s performance at the Buddh International circuit. The Spaniard went on to put on an amazing display during Saturday’s Sprint race and went on to finish third and on the podium.
However, his luck wasn’t as good when it came to Sunday’s main race. The Spaniard crashed out of the race and suffered yet another retirement this season. During all this, there have been strong links of him joining his brother Alex Marquez at Gresini Racing in 2024. However, Marc has gone on to give an update on his current situation with the Japanese manufacturer.
In an interview, here is what he had to say. “I have clear ideas, I know what I’m looking for,” Marquez said to Sky about his future. “I give 100% on the track and I will continue to do my best as long as I ride a Honda because it has given me so much. We have already held many meetings, the important thing is that they are looking for a solution to make a better project,” the Repsol Honda MotoGP rider said.

Pecco Bagnaia’s championship lead has been cut down to 13 points following the Indian GP
Bagnaia had come into the Indian GP holding a decent 36 point lead over title rival Jorge Martin. After the Sprint race on Saturday Bagnaia’s championship lead to Martin was reduced to 33 points. However, Sunday’s race took everyone by surprise as Pecco went on to crash out from the race. This in turn gave championship rivals Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi a massive advantage. Marc is still in the bottom half of the standings.
After the Indian Grand Prix, the MotoGP circus will move to Japan which is also the home race for Honda. Marc Marquez will quite possibly have a meeting with the senior members there and try to figure out a solution that would work for both the parties. Multiple Ducati bosses have already expressed their interest to sign the Spaniard. However, it will be interesting to see what is in store for Marquez who will make his decision in Japan.
