Marc Marquez and Honda have had a fruitful partnership ever since the Spaniard signed with the Japanese outfit. The 2023 Japanese GP is the manufacturer’s home race due to which many of the top brass will be attending the race to hold discussions with Marquez and the rest of the Honda riders. This is in light of the manufacturer’s recent performance in the last few years.
Honda has not been at its best since 2019. Many would consider that they are going through their worst phase when it comes to their MotoGP efforts. However, they seem to have made changes to their technical team in a bid to keep their star rider, Marc Marquez, from leaving the Japanese squad. There have been multiple rumors regarding the same.
Speaking about the changes in an interview, here is what Marc Marquez had to say. “It’s not that this bike is worse than the others, because we are going faster than in 2020 and 2019, but it is that the others have improved more. So good for Honda for reacting, implementing changes and trying to reach the level that Ducati and KTM are setting,” he said. “Time will tell if the changes are enough. It doesn’t mean changing people and things going well from one day to the next,” he continued.

Marc Marquez wouldn’t be announcing his decision for the future at the Japanese GP race weekend
The Japanese GP that’s taking place this weekend is also Honda’s home race. Many individuals from the Japanese manufacturer will be coming down to the track to hold meetings and get a grasp on the tight situation that the teams are in. It would be a bit disrespectful if Marc made any announcements this weekend. His answers regarding his future with the team have not revealed his decision. However, there is a chance that the Spaniard could join his brother, Alex Marquez at Gresini Racing.
While Jorge Martin won Saturday’s sprint race, Marc Marquez went on to finish in 7th position. Martin has also decreased his gap to championship leader Pecco Bagnaia following his victory. The championship battle is just getting closer between the two guys. However, Marco Bezzecchi is not to far away and could easily compete with 7 rounds remaining.
