With the next MotoGP round happening in Silverstone still being weeks away, this was the perfect opportunity for the riders to relax a bit before they can get back onto focusing on the championship. It’s all fun and games during this short break but Pecco Bagnaia took it a bit too far. The crash happened in Ibiza on a Tuesday morning after which the officials took his alcohol breath sample. It came out as a shock to everyone when the results stated alcohol content in his breath turned out to be more than three times over the legal limit.
The Ducati MotoGP rider was breathalysed at the scene, and was reported to have returned a score of 0.87mg/L of alcohol in his breath with the legal limit in Spain is 0.25mg/L. This took place in Sant Josep which is on the south west of the island. This particular place is regularly visited by members of the MotoGP paddock during the summer season.

The Ducati driver has been having a rollercoaster of a season so far. Either he is performing well to finish in the points and possibly get a race victory or he is failing to finish the race which has happened multiple times in this half of the season due to various reasons. The last active rider to be charged with a drinking and driving offence was Ex MotoGP racer Hector Barbera who the police had stopped in 2018. Hector further lost his race seat with Pons Racing in the Moto2 championship as it was the second time that he had been caught for the offence.
All eyes roll towards Ducati now as they are yet to comment on this incident.
