Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez has been on a mission to achieve complete recovery since his surgery mid season. After it was announced that the Spaniard will be back to race in MotoGP having been out for a few months, the fans were doubtful if he had the same skillset like before in his champion winning days. It’s safe to say that the Repsol Honda managed to impress everyone once he was back.

Even though Marc Marquez missed much of the 2022 MotoGP season, he still managed to place as the highest ranked Honda engine rider in the world championship standings. This was a testament to how bad the situation had gotten at Honda after the Spaniard took a break from the sport in order to get surgery done on his right arm. With the surgery being successful and the recovery complete, Marc’s comeback has been phenomenal.

For the 2023 season, the Honda rider will be hungry to challenge for a 7th title. However it seems like that will be tough to accomplish since the team doesn’t seem to have made any improvements in theirs new bike. This is according to Marc who tested the bike in Valencia after the MotoGP finale. With this being said, if he isn’t achieving success with Honda, chances are that he will move elsewhere in order to fight for another title. Ex Manager Alzamora would know best.

Marc’s ex manager went on to talk about the rider’s possible career change to achieve a 7th title. “It will all depend on Honda. If they build a bike to win the world championship, it’s okay, but Marc is a winner by nature, he’s only here to win the world championship,” Alzamora told GPOne. “If something doesn’t improve after those two years, I think Marc will change his mind,” he said.

“Ducati have done a great job. With Gigi Dall’Igna they took a big step forward from a technical point of view, with Paolo Ciabatti they did a lot more. They have a competitive bike, but the impressive thing is that they have eight bikes on the track with strong teams, they make contracts with the riders and they are all young and strong. But I think there will always be interest in Marc, but at the moment they don’t really need him like before,” he continued.

Ducati recently won their first rider’s title in 15 years with Bagnaia as he went on to replace Casey Stoner as the factory team’s new champion. That being said, they will be racing in 2023 with Pecco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini which will prove to be a very strong lineup. Which is why Marc Marquez won’t be that sought after like before by the Italian manufacturer.
