The team is currently leading the Team standings with 213 points to their name with a small gap to Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP. With Aleix Espargaro currently second in the championship standings, it makes sense that he is a very serious contender for the MotoGP championship with a 21 point gap to championship leader Fabio Quartararo.

The Aprilia rider rode a brilliant race at the Dutch GP after coming into contact with Fabio Quartararo and falling to p15. He went on a charge from there and finished the race placed p4 with a brilliant last corner overtake on two riders on the last lap.Being a runner up in the championship, Aleix Espargaro is currently the only rider on the 2022 grid to have finished and scored points in every race so far. He has 1 wins and 5 podiums, 2 pole positions and two fastest laps to his name so far. With Silverstone being a few days away, Aleix Espargaro will be adamant to crunch down on Fabio’s championship lead.
