The 2022 MotoGP season has been one that’s always had drama along with some pretty enticing races and there is still half a season of that action remaining which is great for the fans. With the first half coming to an end and the second half starting in August in Silverstone, the battles are only going to get more and more intense.
While it is obvious that there are multiple riders that have proven their worth this season with their brilliant performances, there are some who’s drives have gone unnoticed. Let us take a look into who the most underrated rider on the current grid is this season.
Moto2 Champion Johann Zarco is the most underrated rider on the current MotoGP grid in our opinion
The French Motorcycle rider is competing in the premier class of MotoGP with Pramac Racing with #5. Since he came into MotoGP in 2017, he has 7 poles and 15 podiums to his name but is yet to win a grand prix. In the 2022 season, Johann Zarco has been performing at his level best and is constantly competing for the top spot in all the races. Even though the Pramac Ducati rider doesn’t have any wins to his name, he currently sits in 3rd place in the MotoGP world championship.
The interesting part about it is that Johann Zarco is the only rider in the top 5 in the championship standings who hasn’t won a race this season. Without a win under his belt, it is an impressive feat to be in the top 3. With the first half of the season getting over, the french rider has scored 4 podiums so far and will be more than ready to take this form further onto the second half and finish as high as he can in the championship standings while still aiming to grab his maiden win in the premier class of MotoGP.
