The Dutch Grand Prix was the last race that happened before the MotoGP summer break and it was a round to forget for Yamaha Motogp rider Fabio Quartararo. The French rider made some crucial mistakes in the race which cost him the win and also subsequently caused him to DNF. This mistake gave a rare opportunity to his title rivals to converge on him and close the gap as much as they could on the points table.

The Yamaha rider had two crashes and was forced to retire from the race which in turn decreased his advantage in the championship standings to the 2nd place driver Aleix Espargaro. This was the same rider with whom he had collided with yet the Aprilia rider went on a charge from 15th position to 4th wherein he passed two bikes on the last corner in order to finish in that position in what was a heroic drive. It was a weekend to forget for the French rider.

Fabio Quartararo made the stewards unhappy with his antics earlier during the race which resulted in action being taken against him.The Dutch GP stewards deemed that Fabio Quartararo was worthy of a long lap penalty which would be served in Silverstone when MotoGP resumes racing with the BritishGP on 7th August i.e this weekend.

With the championship lead being cut down to 21 points between Fabio Quartararo and Aleix Espargaro, it is going to be very crucial for the French rider to not make any mistakes in the second half of the season if he wants to keep his championship hopes alive.
