‘This is the luxury problem we have’, Pit Beirer on signing Pedro Acosta after the Spaniard aces the Moto2 test as a rookie

Pedro Acosta and Pit Beirer

Pedro Acosta is in line to come through the ranks for KTM. The rider has been absolutely magnificent for the team as keeps on giving scintillating performances. He even holds the title of the current Moto3 world champion.

So, the problems have been mounting for KTM but these are problems which the team won’t mind having. The current line up for KTM is impressive to say the least.

Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira are locked into the team for 2024 and until the end of the season respectively. While the team also has the likes of current Moto2 world champion Gardner and Raul Fernandez in their arsenal, we don’t see how Pedro Acosta even after his impressive showing gets to sneak in the line-up for KTM.

Pedro Acosta clocked a time of 1:41.552s and absolutely nailed the Moto2 test as a rookie and even went on to absolutely demolish Remy Gardner’s lap record as he went nine tenths underneath his lap record.

Pit Beirer recognizes the talent of Pedro Acosta and understands the importance of signing him

KTM has had problems like this before as they had to shrug off interests from Yamaha and Aprilia last season to sign Fernandez but they wouldn’t want to go the same route with Pedro as sky is the limit for the 17 year old and Pit Beirer recognises that.

Pit Beirer said, “This is the luxury problem we have. We do so much junior work that we grow up good riders and the first big compliment is that other rivals want these riders also.”

“Every time you sign a new contract it’s a test and the first payback for us is the trust when a rider signs another contract. All four MotoGP riders have all signed already at least one new contract with us. We didn’t force them to do it, they did it.”

“With Pedro it’s the same, he’s so young. I mean, he’s the super talent and of course other guys want him.” As reported by crash.net.

We don’t know what lies in the future for Pedro Acosta but we definitely know that the performances he has been giving right now makes him destined for greatness. All he needs to do is to make the right decision.
