Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won his 50th game in charge, in just 92 games. This accomplishment puts him in 3rd place with just Mourinho (81 games) and Ernest Mangnall (78 games) ahead of him.

Ole’s time in charge:

He won his 50th game against Luton Town in a 3-0 win last night. However, this victory could have easily gone sideways, if it wasn’t for Dean Henderson’s crucial save. The game also showed the lack of depth in United’s squad with their second team barely being able to a Championship side.

To make it worse, Ole’s 50th win could have come in their season opener against Crystal Palace which they embarrassingly lost. However, this milestone victory comes even after Mourinho’s place with 9 games to spare. Mourinho was fired in December 2018 with Ole taking over. Ole even won his 5 first games in charge since Sir Matt Busby in 1946.

Ole was honest to admit that the 50th victory was a hard-fought battle in his interview, “Safe and through? It wasn’t safe, they made us work hard for it.” He is also looking forward to the rest of the season, “So I was happy with the competitive nature of this game and of course happy to go through because we’ll get another chance next midweek to get more match minutes into players.”

With poorly conducted business in the transfer market this window, many fans are speculating whether it will be enough to keep Ole in charge. Ole will certainly need to get better performances this season.
