The featherweight title has not featured in the UFC since October of 2024. April 12’s PPV event at Kaseya Center in Miami will see Ilia Topuria‘s vacant 145-pound title on the line. Aljamain Sterling lost a close decision scrap to Movsar Evloev. Hence, he knows what’s on the table and supports the undefeated rival for getting a title crack. Aljo has beefed with Diego Lopes for it; now Evloev takes matters into his own hands. He sends best wishes to Alexander Volkanovski while billing Lopes will always be someone he schooled.

The Brazilian featherweight dropped a short-notice debut bout to the undefeated Russian. However, he reeled back 5-0 on a winning streak. In a span of eleven months, Lopes defeated the likes of Gavin Tucker, Pat Sabatini, Sodiq Yusuff, and Dan Ige. Lopes last won at UFC 306 PPV against the elite Brian Ortega and demanded his title shot.

This isn’t the first time the duo have gone against each other on social barbs. Right after the last Noche UFC pay-per-view, Evloev billed the rival wasn’t playing ball. Diego Lopes had subbed in for a last-minute bout against Ige, and he claimed the fighter looked weak in it. Lopes also retorted to it.

Lopes quipped back on the prime notion that the rival is a decision machine and his fights are lackluster. Now, with him treading ahead, the duo are bantering over it full-on. However, another 145 standout wants all the smoke and calls out Evloev for it.

Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes headlines UFC 314’s featherweight title showdown. The to-be-vacant 145 top order has every contender on their edge. Lopes is happy about and ready for his opportunity, but is under heat from rivals. Now, Team Fighting Nerds’ Jean Silva puts himself in the equation against Evloev.

Much like Lopes, Silva of the Fighting Nerds gym is a proper 2024 breakout star. After a dominant UFC Seattle TKO win against Melsik Baghdasaryan, he called out Bryce Mitchell. He now officially meets him at UFC 314. However, the Fighting Nerd star wants all the smoke and also called the Russian grappler.

Silva, like many, touched on the fact that Movsar Evloev is an inactive fighter. So far, Evloev doesn’t have any fights booked, but Silva has. Per opening odds, the Brazilian is a -375 favorite on the money line to win at UFC 314. If he gets past Bryce Mitchell and keeps this line of diss on, Silva might still find himself against a big name.
