IPL 2021: Twitter reacts as MS Dhoni gets out for a duck

MS Dhoni made his much-awaited return to competitive cricketing action as he took the field for Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) match against Delhi Capitals (DC). However, all he lasted for was two balls as he was dismissed for a duck by DC bowler Avesh Khan. Resultantly, the match turned out to be a disappointment for the former Indian captain and the millions of fans of him around the world.

Earlier, CSK had got off to a bad start as they lost both openers – Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad within the Powerplay. However, the left-handed pair of Moeen Ali and Suresh Raina counter-attacked after beginning cautiously to go after the spinners and up the ante. After Ali’s brisk knock, Raina took over and got to his half-century, marking his return to the IPL with a superb knock.

Following an unfortunate run-out and the wicket of Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni walked out to bat. He couldn’t connect the first delivery he faced off Avesh Khan before he was castled off the next ball by an inside edge.
