TweetBinderX recently published the list of Indian personalities, who have been the most talked-about in 2025. The list ranks former Indian skipper MS Dhoni as the second-most talked about Indian personality, surpassing the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Chennai Super Kings star and Indian cricketing icon MS Dhoni ranks second on the list, and is only behind Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who tops the list. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are ranked third and fourth, respectively, followed by actor Allu Arjun, who is ranked fifth. Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath, Pawan Kalyan, Vijay and Akshay Kumar are the others, who made it to the list of the most talked-about people.

It comes as a surprise for many for MS Dhoni to be ranked second, owing to the fact that the 43-year-old retired from international cricket way back in 2020. The buzz surrounding the former Indian skipper, is due to the ongoing 2025 IPL season. Dhoni most recently, returned as CSK skipper after a two-year break, midway through the season, following regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s season-ending elbow injury.

However, MSD’s return to captaincy has not been a memorable one, with CSK having crashed out of the 2025 IPL playoffs race. CSK became the first team to be knocked out of contention this season, making it the most talked about cricketing event of the year. To add to that, Dhoni has fiddled with the idea of his retirement from cricket, which includes him wearing a ‘morse-coded’ t-shirt that read out ‘One last time’.

Notably, Dhoni and Virat Kohli occupied the top two positions in TweetBinderX’s list of the most talked-about Indians, in the month of March. Kohli, who is often revered as one of the greatest Indian players of all time, also enjoys immense popularity among fans, around the world. He has been enjoying a prolific 2025 IPL season, scoring 505 runs in 11 games for Royal Challengers Bengaluru at an average of 63.13.

Both Kohli and Rohit Sharma did have a good season in white-ball cricket, having most recently won the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Captain Rohit Sharma was adjudged POTM in the final for his emphatic knock of 76 runs, against New Zealand. In the IPL as well, despite a poor start, the 38-year-old seems to have returned to form for Mumbai Indians, having scored 300 runs in 11 matches.

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen what lies ahead of the three Indian cricketing stars, and their respective IPL franchises. While CSK are out of the 2025 IPL title race, five-time winners Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be hoping to stake claim on the glistening trophy.

Eden Gardens braces for potential MS Dhoni swan song in crucial KKR-CSK IPL showdown

KKR’s clash against CSK at the Eden Gardens on the 7th of May, could potentially be IPL legend and Indian cricket star MS Dhoni’s last dance, at the iconic Kolkata stadium. The 43-year-old does share deep ties with the city, and the Eden Gardens.

The crowd at the Eden Gardens on the 7th of May is expected to be draped in Yellow. The overwhelming support for Dhoni in Kolkata is because of the fact that he played a major part of his junior cricket in the city. Eden Gardens stood witness to Dhoni’s maiden first-class century, in the 2000-01 Ranji Trophy season, as well as two out of his six international Test hundreds.

In the IPL as well, Mahi has been equally impressive, scoring 280 runs in 12 innings in Kolkata, at an average of 46.66. However, the CSK captain is yet to make a decision on his future, in spite of the rumors that it could be his last IPL season.
