MS Dhoni is the biggest name to currently play in the IPL. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2020, he has one of the biggest fan followings. Due to this, there is always one camera panned to him, but it looks like the former Indian captain has enough of it.
During Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) loss to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on 23rd April, the camera was panned on MS Dhoni during the first innings. It was during the 17th over when CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube were in the middle.
Dhoni was in the dressing room and the camera kept on focusing on him, which irked him. He was seen picking up a bottle from a bag and jokingly threatened the cameraman by acting like he was throwing it. Dhoni eventually came out to bat in the final over, playing one ball and hitting a four.
Stephen Fleming calls himself lucky to watch MS Dhoni
Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni have one of the best coach-player partnerships in the history of the IPL. The duo have led CSK to five IPL titles in 14 seasons, appearing in 10 finals. With Dhoni’s IPL career soon coming to a close, the Kiwi coach says he is lucky to see the love the former Indian captain gets after their loss to LSG.
It's an experience you like to have in the stadium every time he plays. It's been lucky for me to have this magical experience for 16-17 years. The love for him throughout the world is a testimony to the way he has played the game. People talk about MS as a person, but he is also a great player, and he has done some great things for India and Chennai.Stephen Fleming in the post-match press conference
Many have suggested this could be Dhoni’s final season, with the Indian legend turning 43 in July. He is also dealing with recurring knee injury. He has promised his fans that his final match will be in Chepauk, so CSK will be doing their best to reach the 2024 IPL finals.
