MVP believes WWE should've replaced Brock Lesnar with Bobby Lashley (via WWE)
Almost a month ago, Bobby Lashley departed WWE after his contract expired. The former WWE Champion rejected the offer for an extension and began looking into other ventures. Along with Lashley, MVP left the company, with rumors suggesting that the duo was creatively frustrated. Recently, Montel Vontavious Porter criticized WWE for not replacing Brock Lesnar with Lashley.
During a live signing with K&S WrestleFest, MVP tore into WWE for not utilizing his former teammate. The 50-year-old claimed that Lashley could’ve been used in a role to put young talent over. After the company lost Lesnar, MVP said that they failed in capitalizing on the situation as The Almighty was on his way out anyway.
This isn’t the first time that MVP has aired his grievances publicly. Two months prior to leaving, the former United States Champion went on a social media rant regarding the company’s booking of The Hurt Business faction. Furthermore, he recently implied that Triple H was an “idiot” for not making the most out of Omos.
If you lost Brock, why wouldn't you stick Bobby in that spot? Bobby is black Brock. Why wouldn't you use Bobby in that position and make guys on the way out?MVP during K&S WrestleFest
Needless to say, it became only a matter of time before he would depart. As for Bobby Lashley, he couldn’t find his footing under the HHH era. Injuries and inconsistent booking hampered the final stretch of his WWE run. Both Lashley and MVP are expected to reunite in the foreseeable future, with AEW the most probable destination for The Hurt Business pair.
Why WWE pulled Brock Lesnar from its programming and future storylines
Back in January, the wrestling world was in shock after former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a s*xual trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon and the company. Among the allegations, Grant claimed that McMahon offered her as a ‘bargaining tool’ in the contract negotiations of a WWE Superstar.
The Wall Street Journal identified Brock Lesnar as the alleged star. Lesnar was set to return at the Royal Rumble and take part in the 30-man titular match.
However, the Stamford-based promotion pulled The Beast from the event in light of the harrowing allegations. Later, reports suggested that the company had nixed future storylines and plans for the former WWE Champion.
The 47-year-old star was supposed to face Dominik Mysterio at the next PLE, Elimination Chamber. Furthermore, WWE had apparently lined up the dream match between Lesnar and Gunther for WrestleMania XL. Since then, there has been no significant update regarding his status with the company.
