Last week, reports emerged online disclosing that MVP was removed from WWE’s internal roster. Later, the 50-year-old star sent a message on social media, seemingly confirming his departure. Last night, MVP made a surprise appearance at Bloodsport XI, confronting Josh Barnett. The former United States Champion spoke publicly for the first time since the rumors about his departure from WWE.

MVP confirmed that he would leave WWE. However, he took a shot at the promotion by refusing to mention WWE in his promo. The former Tag Team Champion shifted his focus to Barnett, challenging him to a future showdown. More importantly, MVP affirmed that he wasn’t retiring from wrestling and hinted at returning to the ring once his deal expires.

The veteran hasn’t competed on WWE programming in over two years now. In fact, the Miami-born wrestler has sporadically appeared in his relegated managerial role alongside Omos. Moreover, MVP had to refute rumors of him transitioning into a producer role. Almost two months ago, Mr. 305 expressed frustrations over his overall booking in WWE and the premature breakup of The Hurt Business.

MVP revealed that his efforts to reunite the group went in vain with not only Vince McMahon but also with Triple H. Therefore, his departure doesn’t come as a surprise to many fans. Having said that, the former Hurt Business member is eager to prove that he can still hang with the best inside the squared circle.

Will MVP and Bobby Lashley reunite The Hurt Business in another promotion?

Well, it turns out that MVP won’t be the only former Hurt Business member bidding adieu to WWE. Along with Mr. 305, Bobby Lashley is also expected to leave WWE once his contract expires in mid-August. Similar to his former teammate, Lashley seemingly grew frustrated with creative direction in WWE.

Amid rumors of their departures, fans speculated whether the duo would reunite in another faction. After all, who wouldn’t want to acquire the services of the experience pairing? Additionally, Shelton Benjamin has been a free agent since last September, which makes the reunion of The Hurt Business more and more likely.

At the moment, the expected destination for Lashley and MVP is AEW. A potential Hurt Business 2.0 in AEW would do wonders for the Tony Khan-led promotion. Speaking of the faction, Booker T also expressed his opinion about the next destination for the duo. The WWE Hall of Famer prefers that the legends join TNA instead of AEW.
