Lamar Jackson has been playing at an elite level all season long. Those performances saw the Baltimore Ravens QB seemingly stay in the MVP conversation. However, he was also facing competition from the likes of fellow quarterback’s Josh Allen and Joe Burrow.

As the season winded down, the competition saw media houses lose their minds debating who among the three deserved of winning the MVP award. Some were on Jackson’s side, whereas some liked how Josh Allen led a team to second place in the AFC, a team that was supposed to be taking it easy this year.

Or, for the matter, Joe Burrow, whose heroics almost dragged a team featuring a horrid defense to the playoffs. However, those eligible to exercise generally factor the entire season in. Along with that, they will look at individual in addition to team stats to cast their votes.

The Associated Press decides on the MVP award, which is handed out at the NFL Honors event during Super Bowl week. However, prior to that, they release their All-Pro lists. In the 1st team list, they chose Lamar Jackson at the quarterback position. Whereas Josh Allen ended up on the second team.

This marks the third First Team All-Pro selection for the Baltimore Ravens quarterback, who saw his backfield teammates Derrick Henry and Patrick Ricard join him as All-Pros. Jackson won the MVP award both times he was an AP All-Pro 1st teamer.

Lamar Jackson favorite to win third league MVP honors

The 28-year-old will probably like his chances of winning a third league MVP award. That is because almost every All-Pro 1st team QB has won it since 2007. With the voting for All-Pro teams, those with a vote usually show what they feel about the players.

Lamar Jackson received 109 votes to Josh Allen’s 78, suggesting there are more voters who feel the Ravens QB is the best player this season. To further prove that Jackson received 30 1st place votes when compared to 18 for Allen.

Going by all this, NFL Honors night should see the Ravens star receive his third league MVP award. He would like to not receive it in person, as that means he will be out of the Super Bowl. He would rather cement his place in an exclusive club with a Lombardi trophy placed alongside the MVP award.

With his third win, he will join the likes of the great Jim Brown, Johnny Unitas, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. An exclusive club which usually leads to another exclusive club, the Hall of Fame.
