“New company, new chapter,” MVP tries to mend fences with former WWE star in hopes of recruiting him in his AEW faction
After months of making his life hell in WWE, MVP tries to recruit former WWE champion into his AEW faction.

MVP approaches Ricochet to join the Hurt Business (via AEW)
The Hurt Business was one of the most popular factions in WWE this side of the decade. Many believe that they were disbanded too early. Although the group never re-formed in WWE, MVP is back at it again, this time in AEW.
In a backstage segment on the most recent episode of Dynamite, MVP and Shelton Benjamin approached Ricochet, who debuted in AEW just two months ago. The two-time United States Champion told him to forget their past in their previous company and start a new chapter together and handed him his business card. Furthermore, he appreciated him for wearing a fashionable suit, similar to what the Hurt Business wore when they weren’t wrestling.
Ricochet had recently stated that he hated The Hurt Business when they used to dominate the landscape of WWE. The inaugural Speed Champion went head-to-head against the faction several times in the pandemic era, in both singles matches and six-man tag matches. It appears that they may now be looking to recruit him as a replacement for Cedric Alexander, who is still signed with WWE. Funnily enough, the former Intercontinental Champion was originally slated to be a part of the Hurt Business.
New company, new chapter, new beginnings. Let’s start off fresh.
MVP to Ricochet
Now, fans are waiting for Bobby Lashley to make his AEW debut and join the alliance. The All Mighty is clearly interested in re-forming the group. He was very unhappy when WWE did not reunite the faction despite the work that they had put in during the pandemic.
MVP discusses his return to in-ring professional wrestling against Josh Barnett
MVP had his last wrestling match on an episode of Raw on 18th July 2022 when he lost by disqualification against the Street Profits. Since then, he has been busy acting as a manager for Omos. The Franchise Playa is now looking to return to in-ring action. However, his next match will not take place in AEW.

MVP confronted Josh Barnett at GCW’s Bloodsport XI event and challenged him to a match. The latter accepted, and the two superstars are set to clash on November 24th at BloodSport XII in New Jersey. The 50-year-old also reacted to this announcement on social media.
He expressed his fascination in a now-deleted tweet with Japanese wrestling and submission grappling styles of wrestling. In fact, his first lessons in submission grappling came from the man he was going to face in a month, Josh Barnett. As of today, he has achieved a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a multi-time grappling champion. Thus, he was very excited to face his mentor in the ring.
