The Buffalo Bills had one of their best seasons in recent history. The AFC team came close to beating Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs but ultimately fell short in the AFC Championship. Despite the disappointing end to their season, there was one silver lining, Josh Allen, winning his first MVP Award.

The quarterback has been an underdog for most of his career. He entered the NFL with people doubting his talent and potential. Josh Allen has proven the critics wrong one-by-one and this year, he showed that he was the most consistent performer despite losing his star wideout in the off-season.

Despite winning the MVP Award this year, Allen is not content. The quarterback’s objective has been to win a championship, and his career-best season does not change that. Buffalo’s GM Brandon Beane reaffirmed Allen’s commitment to winning a Super Bowl with the Bills.

During his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Brandon Beane spoke about the risk of drafting Josh Allen and his underdog mentality.

He never wavered, he took criticism, he’s always had that chip and just doing our research, this young man, you know he had his chip way before people were giving him reasons to have a chip. He’s got a chip now, as excited as he was and honored to win the MVP, he knows and we know the ultimate goal is to bring a championship to Buffalo so that didn’t remove the chip winning the MVP.

Brandon Beane said

Allen is a quarterback who would rather enjoy team success than individual success.

Josh Allen and the Bills will need to get over the Chiefs’ hump if they intend to reach the Super Bowl

Despite Buffalo’s recent success, the franchise has not made it to the big game. The franchise is cursed in this one respect. Historically, the Bills have gone 0-4 in the Super Bowl, making them the team to take the most losses without a win in the championship game.

Buffalo’s 0-4 Super Bowl record is painful for the fanbase because the four losses came at a consecutive stretch. The Bills lost Super Bowl XXV, XXVI, XXVII, and XXVIII.

Interestingly, the team fell one point short of beating the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXV. It remains the only championship game in NFL history where one team won the game by one point.

Allen is the most suited to break the curse. He has broken through the criticisms that he has been subjected to since his college football days. The Bills have just one obstacle in their path and that is their divisional rival, the Kansas City Chiefs to beat.

If they can overcome them, then they will reach the Super Bowl. Despite being a happily engaged man, the competitor in Josh Allen will not allow him to rest peacefully unless he beats Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.
