MVPs will their team to victories, no excuse Luka Doncic: Kendrick Perkins
Luka Doncic scored only 12 points against Charlotte Hornets

One of the most outspoken NBA Analyst Kendrick Perkins takes a dig at predicted MVP of the season Luka Doncic. The Dallas Mavericks have suffered 3 defeats in 4 games in the 2020-21 season. Today, they lost their first home game to Charlotte Hornets who have not been playing well. After such a defeat, fanatics have started questioning the form and leadership of Luka Doncic. The latest to join that crew is, no one else but Kendrick Perkins.

Perkins suggests that MVP go onto win the game for their franchise. Which Doncic has not been able to do yet. Doncic has been a below-average three-point shooter in his career. He averages just 31% from three off 7.9 attempts per game. It is a clear weakness in his game, and this season it has been worse. In four games so far, he has 21 attempts and converted just two of them.

Mavs are without their star player Porzingis. But that could not be an excuse as they devastatingly defeated LA Clippers by a huge margin. Yet, they haven’t been able to continue on that form. With young players of the Hornets cruising past the defence line of the Mavs and scoring from the paint.

Not only has he been struggling, but most of the team is, as well. Only Maxi Kleber, Trey Burke, and Tim Hardaway Jr. are shooting above 35% from three. As a team, their three-point percentage is 31% which is the 4th worst in the NBA currently.

They are also lacking leadership from Luka. They need to him step up and lead them to wins. He has always led by example in the previous seasons and the players will be eager to have him back in form.
