Anthony Joshua put on a stunning show against Kubrat Pulev at the Wembley Arena, on Saturday. The Brit successfully defended his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, as he knocked out ‘The Cobra’ in the 9th round.
Questions arose after AJ’s KO win; as to who his next opponent will be. Tyson Fury was and is the first name that comes to everyone’s mind and that all Brit encounter will definitely be a cracker of a contest.
More recently, there have been rumors afloat that Anthony Joshua might be taking on another undefeated boxer – Oleksandr Usyk. Yes, you read that right! According to Usyk’s co-promoter, Alexander Krassyuk – An AJ vs Usyk encounter in 2021, is very much on the cards, even before the Fury fight.

WBO President, Paco Valcarcel tweeted, “@anthonyfjoshua looked sensational against @KubratPulev. As to the @WorldBoxingOrg belt, @EddieHearn knows the meaning of commitment; the ball is in Hearn’s court.” He also tagged Oleskandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in his tweet.
Krassyuk, speaking to Sky Sports was quoted as saying, “My prediction, my plan and our strategy is to make AJ vs Usyk in April or May 2021.This is the WBO who has the power to enforce the champion for the mandatory.Though everyone wants to see AJ fighting Fury I don’t feel this fight is likely to happen soon. Speaking about Anthony Joshua’s performance against Kubrat Pulev, Krassyuk stated, “I did not discuss AJ’s performance with Usyk yet but must admit AJ looked quite convincing.” [via Sky Sports]
Although, the Fury-AJ fight is inevitable, which fight do you want to see happening first? Should Anthony Joshua opt for one more title defence, against Usyk? Or should he jump straight into the Fury fight?
