Simone Biles is on cloud nine following her recent victory at the Paris Olympics. After earning her eighth medal on the biggest stage, she cemented herself as the greatest American gymnast of all time. In addition to this, Biles has made sure to keep her receipts. The last time, when she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, all the critics that called her out, she has been clapping back at them.

Simone Biles took a shot after being criticized by former teammate MyKayla Skinner after Team USA won at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday. She shared images of herself with teammates Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera celebrating their gold medal performance in the team gymnastics final.

Biles captioned the image with the criticism she and her team members receivedlack of talent, lazy, olympic champions.” This roster was called out for not being talented enough and for being lazy as it headed into the Olympics.

MyKayla Skinner, who criticized Team USA women’s gymnasts in her YouTube video after the roster was announced on June 30 seems to have been hurt by this and has since blocked Simone Biles. The Olympic champion took to X to reveal that Skinner had decided to silence her on social media.

Oop I've been blocked.

To this, even Elon Musk, owner of X, could not help himself but react with a laughing emoji.

Skinner previously issued an apology before the Games following significant backlash from Simone Biles and fans.

Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn't like what it used to be. A lot of girls don't work as hard. The girls just don't have the work ethic.
MyKayla Skinner had said for which she issued apology

Biles stood up for her teammates, “Not everyone needs a mic and a platform.” Her comments can be interpreted as her making it clear that not everyone’s opinion matters.

Simone Biles and Team USA have been doubted by a lot of their peers and critics ever since the final roster was announced in June. Yet, they overcame all odds to go out there and prove that the USA continues to lead the world in women’s gymnastics.

MyKayla Skinner was on the 2020 Tokyo Olympic roster beside Simone Biles. She announced her retirement after winning a silver medal in the vault event. It remains unclear why she opted to throw shade at her peers because she could not have been jealous of not being selected as she walked away from the sport. Nevertheless, with the recent gold, Team USA has silenced all the haters.
