Myles Garrett has made it clear that he wants to play for a contender. However, despite the Browns offering him a record-breaking extension, the team’s lack of stability at quarterback remains a major obstacle.

With Deshaun Watson’s ongoing struggles and injuries, Garrett’s frustration has become increasingly evident. Furthermore, Deshaun Watson doesn’t have a good footing with the fans either. He suffered a tirade of boos last season amid his s****l misconduct allegations. However, it is assumed that the latter doesn’t rile up Garrett as he defended the player last year during the boos.

Despite his public support for the team, reports suggest Myles Garrett is unhappy with Watson’s inability to lead the Browns to success. Watson’s hefty contract has limited the team’s ability to bring in other high-profile talent, further adding to the frustration. The Browns need a quarterback who can match the elite play of their defense.

Cleveland Browns’ inability to find a reliable quarterback has kept them from reaching their full potential. While Garrett continues to dominate on defense, the offense has struggled to keep up.

After the dominating season in 2023, winning 11 games, they succumbed to barely three wins and finished in fourth place in their division in 2024. The Browns have cycled through quarterbacks, yet none have been able to establish long-term success.

Any team that’s going to go far needs a quarterback and one that’s young, can learn, and is willing to be patient with the process. There’s going to be some bumps in the road. It’s going to be some learning pains.

Currently, Kenny Pickett is the only healthy quarterback on the roster. The Browns explored signing Russell Wilson, but he chose the New York Giants instead. Now, the team faces the possibility of starting a rookie in 2025, with Cam Ward emerging as a top prospect.

The Cleveland Browns are actively hunting for a new quarterback, hosting draft prospect for private workout

The Browns continue to evaluate their options at quarterback, recently hosting Miami’s Cam Ward for a private workout, as reported by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski, general manager Andrew Berry, and owner Jimmy Haslam were all in attendance to assess the first-round prospect. While Ward is heavily linked to the Tennessee Titans at the top of the 2025 draft, the Browns remain in the mix for a new signal-caller.

The Titans hold the first overall pick, followed by the Browns. Although Tennessee already has a quarterback in Will Levis, his inconsistent performances have raised concerns. Levis struggled in his second season, and the Titans don’t seem fully confident in him.

That doesn’t necessarily mean they see Ward as a franchise quarterback. Nevertheless, this pretend play by positioning themselves as if they do strengthens their negotiating power.

Barring any surprises, Ward appears to be the top quarterback prospect, ahead of Shedeur Sanders. The Titans sent a large contingent to Miami’s Pro Day, signaling strong interest in Ward. While they seem prepared to draft him, there’s always the possibility of the Browns or another team making an irresistible trade offer.

Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox suggested that the Browns may trade the No. 2 and No. 33 picks, along with a player, to the Titans in exchange for the first overall pick. They will need to pull some major moves like leapfrogging the Titans. After all, Myles Garrett was pinpoint on his words as any team needs a strong signal caller to take them to bigger levels.
