Myles Garrett trade: George Kittle and Fred Warner not on the same page about adding All-Pro DE to 49ers
George Kittle and Fred Warner want the 49ers to sign Myles Garrett after his trade request but differ on whether they'd sacrifice part of their contracts to make it happen.

Myles Garrett is the kind of player every Super Bowl-contending NFL team needs. The 49ers stumbled in 2024, but with a few key adjustments, they’ll be right back in the mix. Stars George Kittle and Fred Warner agree—if the circumstances align, adding Garrett would be a game-changer for San Francisco.
During Thursday’s episode of UP & Adams from New Orleans, host Kay Adams asked Warner about Garrett and whether he would want the 49ers to trade for him. Warner was quickly on board with the idea.
I don’t know how that [Garrett to the 49ers] would even come about, how we would get that done. But I know that someway, somehow, we can figure that out. Me and George [Kittle] can just give a little bit of our funds over to Myles Garrett; how about that? How’s that sound?
Fred Warner told Kay Adams
Warner may be willing to siphon off funds from his salary, but Kittle isn’t. The All-Pro tight end playfully commented,“Speak for yourself, bud.”

Kittle spent eight years with the 49ers and is set to play his ninth in 2025. Before that, the Niners need to renegotiate a new contract, as the five-year, $75 million deal that he signed in 2020 will expire soon. Kittle wants to end his career in San Francisco, but for the Niners to keep hold of him, they must sign a new contract.
Is George Kittle against the 49ers signing Myles Garrett?
Kittle isn’t against the Niners signing Garrett; it’s the opposite. The 31-year-old is an advocate of top players joining the 49ers roster.
I’m all for adding really good football players to my roster. That makes my job as an offense [offensive player] easier. You don’t have to score as many points when you have a guy like Nick Bosa and/or Myles Garrett on the side.

Kittle even highlighted that Warner would be the most pleased about signing Garrett.
Fred would love to have another solid d-lineman because it makes his job a little bit easier as a linebacker.

Kittle and Warner aren’t the only ones who have tried to woo Garrett. Cowboys All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons recently revealed that he would love to have the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year in Dallas. Garrett is an Arlington native and grew up a Cowboys fan. After graduating from Texas A&M, he pleaded with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to draft him, but the Cleveland Browns took him first overall.
