Over the years, the Indian Cricket Team has seen a plethora of superstars and hence comparisons have always been a prevalent topic. The Indian Cricket Team has seen stars like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Kohli, MS Dhoni etc, to name a few.
While Virat Kohli is going strong in international cricket, it’s been a while since MS Dhoni hung up his gloves
Kohli has been going strong in international cricket with the hunger to score runs and dominate cricket. Although he retired from T20Is after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, he is still going strong in the other two formats of the game. Currently, the former Indian Captain is playing against New Zealand in the three-match Test series at home and will next travel to Australia for a five-match Test series in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Kohli already has 80 international centuries to his name.
Meanwhile, India lost the first Test match of the series in Bengaluru as Kohli scored a duck in the first innings and followed it up with a 70 in the second innings. Rohit Sharma‘s men were bowled out for 46 in the first innings but did manage to come back strongly with the bat in the second innings. However, it was not enough to win the match for India.
On the other hand, Dhoni last played in the 2024 season of the IPL, and 5 years prior, in 2019, internationally. It is not sure whether he will be part of the next season of the IPL as he is yet to announce his decision. However, reports say that Dhoni will be retained as an uncapped player due to a new rule in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction.
