Rafel Nadal is one of the most renowned people across the globe. He was the “kids’ favourite” idol, in a recent survey conducted in Spain amongst 1800 kids. The other people in the list were football stars Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, Ladybug (cartoon), singers Katy Perry and Rosalia, the late Kobe Bryant, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia and even Batman.
Rafael Nadal is Kid’s Favorite
In the world of tennis too, there are a very few men, who match the humility, kindness, sportsmanship and dedication that Nadal portrays on and off-court. He takes part in various activities to help the needy through his Foundation. Rafael Nadal’s foundation and Academy, both deal with kids/youngsters. While one is a centre for learning, the other helps the poor and less privileged.
Amidst this COVID-19 pandemic, Rafael Nadal raised 14 million euros (along with Pau Gasol) to help those affected by the virus.
In the survey, 18.3% of kids voted for one of the most celebrated Spaniards of all time – Rafael Nadal. While Lionel Messi was not long behind him, garnering 17.2% of the votes. The third place was taken by renowned epidemiologist Fernando Simon.
It is a proud moment for the tennis fraternity to have a Tennis player being the favourite of the young generation. This is a fine example of the kind of impact sports has on the world.
