Julian Nagelsmann applauded Paris Saint-German when they beat his RB Leipzig in the recently concluded first semi-final of UCL 2019/20. After a 3-0 loss, the Leipzig manager said, “I think at the end, the ticket to the final for PSG is well deserved”.

The Bundesliga’s team’s journey to the last four was inspiring. The manager was happy with the way his team performed and went through the whole competition. But eventually, the team fell short after Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat slotted one goal home respectively and got PSG into a dominating position.

There were indeed some errors by Leipzig’s defense that cost them the game and the manager happily agreed to it. “For the first 10 or 12 minutes, we did well. We were in the game – good opening moments, good counter-attacks but in the final third we were a bit too hectic”. Nagelsmann said.

RB Leipzig fought hard but PSG’s quality immerged victorious

The German club had started well, but once the Angel Di Maria free kick came into the picture, there was no turning back for PSG. When time came that Julian’s men could make a comeback, suddenly an exciting effort from Neymar and Angel Di Maria got a second goal for PSG.

The absence of attacking prowess of Timo Werner was certainly felt by the Bundesliga side. Nagelsmann was cheerful even after the match and positively said, “You have to accept it, its harse. But football is like that”.

There is no doubt that Nagelsmann’s side proved its worth throughout the competition and knocked out giants like Tottenham and Atletico Madrid. They will take a huge bag of confidence with them for the upcoming new season.

Julian ended the post-match interview by positively quoting “At the end, it’s not that easy to think about the good season we did in the Champions League but in one week it will be okay”.
