On the latest episode of SmackDown, Jimmy Uso confronted Kevin Owens early on the show. The two engaged in a heated brawl before Uso challenged Owens to a match. The bout was made official, as the pair squared off later in the night. However, The Prizefighter played mind games with his opponent by coming out to the match wearing a Naomi t-shirt. This prompted the latter to respond during the match.
The Women’s Tag Team Champion took to X to express her thoughts on KO’s tactic. Naomi was clearly agitated with the surprising move and asked her husband to beat Owens. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that the former Universal Champion has resorted to this sort of move. Throughout his feud with Cody Rhodes, Owens has donned a Dusty Rhodes, Goldust, and Stardust t-shirt as a way to mock his friend-turned-rival.

Despite Naomi’s wishes, Big Jim failed to put away the self-proclaimed WWE Champion in the main event. Despite putting in an impressive performance, Owens emerged victorious following a Pop-Up Powerbomb. Jimmy Uso‘s night could’ve gone from bad to worse if it hadn’t been for Rhodes, who saved him from a post-match beatdown.

Owens set the former Bloodline member up for a Package Piledriver on the announce table. However, The American Nightmare thwarted his plans, which led to the rivals brawling as SmackDown went off the air. Kevin Owens will face the Undisputed WWE Champion in a ladder match at the upcoming Royal Rumble PLE. Prior to that, the duo will head to Saturday Night’s Main Event to make the bout official.

Since replacing Jade Cargill as one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Naomi has been busy on SmackDown. On this week’s show, Naomi and her tag team partner, Bianca Belair, announced that they would be entering the women’s Royal Rumble match.
This segment also featured Nia Jax and Liv Morgan declaring for the 30-woman bout. Furthermore, the tag champs teamed with Rhea Ripley against Jax, Morgan, and Candice LeRae. The finish saw Morgan gaining the win for her team following a sneaky pinfall on Belair.
Next week on SmackDown, Naomi will look to avenge this loss as she goes one-on-one with Morgan. More importantly, the former Women’s Champion could gain momentum a day before the Royal Rumble. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for the 37-year-old star.
