Naomi Osaka has not featured in any tournament since the Australian Open but has taken the time off to enjoy her time in the sidelines. The Japanese star, who suffered an abdominal injury in Melbourne was recently spotted with a new ride just a month after breaking up with boyfriend Cordae.
Osaka was spotted in a $300,000 matte black Lamborghini while arriving to a gym in Los Angeles. The former World No.1, upon arrival at the gym, met her agent, Rich Paul, who also represents sports stars such as LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. The pair then chatted before going their separate ways in the gym.
This is just a month after Osaka took to Instagram to announce her break up with boyfriend Cordae. The WTA star first went public about her relationship with the artist after they were spotted together in an NBA game in 2016. The pair then welcomed their baby Shai in July 2023, after over three years been together.
Osaka has not been available since the Australian, which has seen her drop to World No.54 in the WTA rankings. She’s still seeking for her first title since 2021, and since her return in the 2024 season, she has gone on a 28-20 win-loss record. However, she has been playing better this season, reaching the Auckland Classics final and the Australian Open third round.
The Japanese star hitting the gym means that she’s near a return to the court than expected. Nonetheless, there’s yet to be an official announcement on which tournament she’s planning to play after her injury spell.
Naomi Osaka reveals her Grand Slam goal before retirement
Naomi Osaka might have been away from the court for the past month but she still has her focus on where she wants to be in her career. The former World No.1 was close to winning her first title of the season at the Auckland Classics, after reaching the final. However, she was forced to retire due to an injury which led to Clara Tauson winning the title.

In a recent interview, she revealed that she would love to win a Career Slam before she retires. She has already won the US Open and Australian Open but has yet to win the Wimbledon Championship and French Open.
I have a lot of goals going forward. For as long as I can play, I really want to win Wimbledon and Roland Garros (the French Open) and get a career grand slam. It’s interesting when I hear from an outside perspective because, of course, all of the achievements (I’ve had so far) are great, but I always feel like there’s a lot more to do.

Osaka will hope to play without injury if she’s to get to the heights she has set for herself. The former World No.1 will now have to focus on winning a title and, perhaps, with a good form hope for a Grand Slam title.
