It has been stressed on numerous occasions how badly the WWE locker room misses AJ Lee. She hasn’t stepped back inside the squared circle since calling it quits on her in-ring career in 2015, owing to damaged cervical spine and other aspirations. But as her husband, CM Punk, is back with WWE despite decade-long beef, the fans are eagerly waiting for Lee’s comeback now.
Not only the fans but also the women in WWE feel the same way. Recently, Naomi spoke to The Wrestling Classic, detailing what she’s doing to lure AJ back into the wrestling business. The Queen of Glow joked that she keeps harassing CM Punk by giving him timely reminders about cajoling his wife into a return to WWE.
The real-life Bloodline member also revealed jostling with retirement thoughts and doesn’t want to ponder over it until AJ Lee scripts a comeback. Trinity Fatu, aka Naomi, asserted that The Black Widow’s stature speaks for itself, given everyone is still clamoring for her to return even though she hasn’t been around in over 10 years.

There were unbridled rumors of Lee’s surprise return in this year’s 30-woman Royal Rumble match. Though it didn’t happen, a report from Fightful suggested that WWE is open to having her back if she’s willing to. The company is aware of the interest she has among fans. They even chanted her name in Triple H‘s face for a while during his appearance on the Royal Rumble kickoff show.
Last July at the Money in the Bank post-show presser, Punk addressed Lee’s future in wrestling. The Second City Saint noted that his wife’s been extremely busy with her foray into the entertainment industry. She even runs a production company, as Punk alluded to in his response.
Liv Morgan has an AJ Lee dream match up her sleeve
If AJ Lee ever decides to pursue wrestling once again, there are a number of dream scenarios already floating around for her. In fact, last year, Liv Morgan told The Schmo that she’d have Dominik Mysterio team up with her to take on CM Punk and his beloved wife at SummerSlam 2025.
Since the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’ is going two nights this year, Morgan believes the proposed mixed tag team match would be ideal. Liv envisioned getting into the crosshairs of Lee, who’s also a New Jersey native like her.
Morgan said it’d be cool for them to slug it out in front of their home crowd. Moreover, since Mysterio has his own issues with Punk, they’d make a compelling story as well.
