Typically, the biggest stars in boxing originate from the US or the UK. However, Naoya Inoue has proved this notion wrong by achieving great heights in the sport of boxing. The Japanese boxer has achieved a lot in his career. As such, with every fight he does, his stardom has reached new heights. This can be seen from his recent payday from his last fight.

The Monster recently fought Luis Nery at the Tokyo Dome, the same venue hosting the legendary Mike Tyson vs. Buster Douglas fight. Since Inoue is a huge star in Japan, the venue was packed, and 55,000 people attended the event. Furthermore, the fight was viewed by thousands of people across the country who watched it from home. Hence, the bout was a massive success, and Inoue became the first boxer to earn ¥1 billion in a single night.

Inoue was able to make $6.5 million in his fight against Nery. The number seems low compared to what boxing stars like Ryan Garcia or Canelo Alvarez earn in one fight. However, it is quite an achievement for the Japanese boxer who chooses to fight in his home country.

Furthermore, Inoue has the opportunity to double his recent earnings to ¥ 2 billion if he decides to fight in Saudi Arabia. This is because Turki Alalshikh has taken an interest in the number two pound-for-pound boxer, especially since he wants to organize the best fights in the sport.
