Fans were left thrilled over Napoli marking their third straight victory of the season, following a recent 4-0 win over 19th placed Cagliari. Romelu Lukaku’s performance hit headlines, as he struck a goal and provided two assists for his new club.

The Belgian forward joined Napoli this summer for €30 million, replacing the outgoing Victor Osimhen, who departed to join Galatasaray. The move also marked a reunion for the 31-year-old forward with manager Antonio Conte, under whom he played at Inter Milan and Chelsea. Since making a move to the Serie A this season, Lukaku has been on fire, recording four goal contributions in just two matches, also taking his Serie A goal-scoring tally to 72 goals in 131 matches.

Having previously spent time at Inter Milan and AS Roma, the Belgian forward was on target against Cagliari. He first assisted skipper Giovanni Di Lorenzo in the 18th minute of the match to open the scoring, followed by another assist to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 66th minute. The Georgian forward paid back by assisting Lukaku, just four minutes later. Manager Conte heaped praise on the veteran forward for his Man of the Match display, identifying him as pivotal in the club’s success.

Meanwhile, the win helped Napoli climb to the top position on the Serie A table, with nine points from four matches. Despite a poor start to the season with a defeat against Verona, the club has staged an impressive comeback to the top.

2022-23 Serie A champions Napoli are once again on top of the table, following their recent win over Cagliari. Fans took to social media to praise new signing Romelu Lukaku for his MOTM performance, with many backing the club to be front-runners to win the league title this season.

One fan jokingly stated that the Belgian forward could be key to their success this season, blaming former forward Victor Osimhen for previous losses. Another fan went to the extent of lamenting EPL side Chelsea for letting the 31-year-old forward leave the club, in favor of Nicolas Jackson, who has failed to live up to expectations.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte also received praise for his strategy and approach. A few fans claimed that the Lukaku-Kvaratskhelia duo would light up the league this season, also tipping the Belgian to win the Serie A Golden Boot.
