“That was one phenomenal drive young man,” NASCAR driver’s reactions to Ty Gibbs’s Xfinity series triumph

Ty Gibbs is the 2022 Xfinity series champion

Ty Gibbs is the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity series champion. Joe Gibbs’s grandson dominated the proceedings in Phoenix and held rival Noah Gragson in the final laps to secure his maiden NASCAR title. The No:54 JGR team had the fastest car and enough luck to prove their worth. They were the only non-JRM team in the chase.

Ty Gibbs’s win received a mixed reaction from the NASCAR community. Most are yet to forgive Gibbs for wrecking his teammate Brandon Jones to secure success at Martinsville. Unlike his Xfinity outing throughout this season, Gibbs was composed and mature on Saturday.

Though he was welcomed with booes after the win, Gibbs kept his cool. His first words after climbing out of the car were, “What I did last week was unacceptable. And I apologize once again, but it was unacceptable because we could have had two shots to win this deal, and it was stupid from an organizational standpoint. All my fault,”.
