NASCAR advisor, NFL superstar arrested in Las Vegas

New Orleans Saints running back and  Growth and Engagement Advisor of NASCAR  Alvin Kamara, a role created by NASCAR for Kamara; making him the first individual to hold the position, has  been arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 26-year-old Atlanta, Georgia native was arrested on Sunday evening for battery which resulted from an incident occurred on Saturday in a Vegas nightclub. Alvin Kamara was held  in the Clark County Detention Canter following the arrest

Alvin Kamara was later released from custody after posting bond and is to appear in the court in  March 8. If found guilty, Alvin Kamara who  caught four passes for 23 yards in a losing effort for the NFC on Sunday afternoon NFL Pro Bowl prior to his arrest, could face one to five years sentence in state prison.

Alvin Kamara, long time friend of Black NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace was important part of participated in racial justice activism in NASCAR , including the controversial ban of the Confederate battle flag from race tracks. In February 2021,4 months before his appointment in NASCAR  Alvin  Kamara sponsored the #6 JD Motorsports Chevrolet of Ryan Vargas in the Xfinity Series race at the Daytona International Speedway Road course.

How twitter reacted to Alvin Kamara’s arrest

Twitter was quick to react to Alvin Kamara’s arrest demanding him to be removed from the team as an individual commented “As an honest Saints fan, we need to cut him immediately and trade for a REAL running back like Ezekiel Elliott”

Another comment read “The NFL shouldn’t have to worry about adults (players) not being able to keep themselves out of trouble in party cities. Real adults should be able to control themselves and be mature enough to not put themselves in situations like this”

Other individual wanted a strong sentence given to him commenting “Is it because it’s a rich athlete? Because if this was a regular dude off the street, we’d be saying lock him up for 20 years, no questions asked. As we have seen numerous times before”

There were also a set of comments in support of Alvin Kamara as they wanted his side of the story to also come with a comment saying “Let’s wait for the full story before we rush to conclusions. But for real most don’t understand because most are keyboard warriors. You gotta whip some ass to protect yourself sometimes”

Another comment defending Alvin Kamara read “What did the investigation entail? Just someone at the hospital saying it was Alvin Kamara? Maybe the assailant was just someone who looked like Kamara, & the intoxicated victim made an assumption, or trying to get $$? We need more information before jumping to any conclusions”
